Gwinnett County To Borrow $50 Million
Share this post by email - 1 Comment - View And/Or Add A Comment »Mike Comer, deputy county commissioner says that the current budget shortfall will probably force the county to borrow $50 million dollars, or more, in order to continue operations throughout the summer.
The current budget shortfall is reported to be in the neighborhood of $12 million with a 2010 projected shortfall of $60 million.

DA Porter Referring Land Deals To Grand Jury
Share this post by email - No Comments - Add A Comment »The AJC is reporting that Gwinnett District Attorney Danny Porter is referring recent Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners land acquisitions to a grand jury for investigation. He also threatened a grand jury investigation if the BoC approved another mulitimillion-dollar acquisition this week. The proposed land deal was subsequently tabled by the BoC until August 4th.

Let’s see,… $60 million budget shortfall. Hmmmm, that number sounds familiar,… Oh yeah, the stadium,… that was $60 million dollars. Anybody got a calculator?
